paleofuture.tv [episode 00000]
Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 11:21PM Rather than finish the magazine I've been working on for months*, I edited the premiere episode of paleofuture.tv yesterday. As you can see, it has the the production values of amateur porn, but with 37% less nudity.**
The first episode is about food, and as I learn a bit more about how to properly put these kinds of videos together, the quality of the episodes will hopefully improve. I hope it's not a complete waste of your time, and I'll get back to blogging more regularly as my move from Minneapolis to Full Bladerunner, CA has been achieved. Enjoy.
*Sorry that it's taken so long. It really will be done soon.
**You can't tell, but I'm naked from the waist down.

Hey, great video! I follow and enjoy your blog since a few months, it's very interesting (also from a scientific point of view). Keep up the good work!
Nicely done. I look forward to more.
Looks great. Of course, there is room for improvement, if you don't mind me saying. For example: Can you get a hot babe to do the presenting? Much better! =)))
This is great I love it you havé don e a great job finding thé little clip. You need to continue that and it's really good quality lol not like porn, I know I am a porn producer, m'y only recommandation would be a little lav microphone for thé sound and your show would be perfect. Cheers
Ugh... you got blog spammed real bad.
In other thoughts...love the blog... love the presentation... love your humour... plus I think you're a hot babe so please ignore JC.
My only advice is about the echo on the mic. It's a little too reverb-ary.
Looking forward to more.
Love the video, nice to see the old film versions . . . just don't do away entirely with non-video posts please! Can't usually watch video at work . . .
...and another thing...
Are you single?
And if you are, will you marry me?
And if you do, will you marry me in this suit:

And when we get home, will I find this waiting for me?

PS: I'm not joking.
Looks great! I enjoyed it.
Always loved the blog, very fascinating subject. The video is just as entertaining. Please keep up the good work

I've been following your blog for a little while now and I really enjoy it. The video is great. I hope you keep it up.
Nicely done, Matt. I hope you found it enjoyable to make, and worth the time it took. Would love to see more. And, you seem very comfortable on camera, so bravo for that part as well.
great video!
Buon appetito ! :)
Well done.
I was about to suggest closer miking - unless you're going to make a habit of eating on camera.
Same opinion here on the microphone. Other than that, nicely done. Saw some clips I didn't expect, well worth my four minutes and some seconds. Time for pizza.
good post great blog,,, P.S. cold pizza...... breakfast of champions
More please! This was great
Looks good. I'm still waiting for the food rehydrater or synthesizer.
Nice. Try finding a paleo-futuristic outfit to wear for future videos.
I hope you continue with this. As long as people are making suggestions, mine is to light your face better. It should be a bit brighter than the background. Otherwise, it looks very drab.
Lavalier mic
Enjoyed this very first episode of Paleo-Future TV. Have always enjoyed the blog. Look forward to more of both. Keep up the good work.
A great start.
Let me be the whatever-ith person to suggest a lavalier or shotgun mic to bring your voice forward while eliminating the room tone.
I must say I found your nudity from the waist down very distracting. But I enjoyed the video anyway. The only thing missing was a Soylent Green type of food experience. And here's a suggestion to enhance the porn aspect - perhaps your next video can look at sex in the future?
Great stuff! More more more!
Great job! Very interesting footage which I haven't seen before. I look forward to your next installment!
Excellent first video - thank you for all that hard work - great fun. You may like my blog too: http://durhamregion.typepad.com/past_present_and_future/
Enjoyed that quite a bit! Carousel of progress music at the end = icing on the cake.
Very well done. Loved the clip from "Magic Highway, USA." I really wish Disney would release that episode on DVD.
Excellent job... waiting for the next "episode" from our past-future.
Well done !
And cold pizza is better with some Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, I'll say.
Great Video ! ! Waiting for the next !!!!
Impressive for a first try! My suggestions would be.. Kill some darlings, get the technical stuff more together (light, sound). Change your tone of voice a bit when talking, give the show a bit of tempo. But I have to say I turn off most clips half way, and you had me until the end, so you're starting out well!
I showed that to my brother and he said, "Next time? Yes time!"
I agree with him.
I loved thefact that they could think of a gazillion different ways of serving food, but couldn't get past the idea that it was women doing the serving!
Great piece, only think the rambling end part was a bit too long if unnecessary. But great job!
Very nice: good fun. Don't like cold pizza..
LOVE YOU PAGE! Keep up the great work!!

Very entertaining video!
Also - You are cute! Given your note, I think the video would have been better if the camera was pulled back a little bit to show more. :D
Wink Martindale...yay! Plus, I heard my favorite song from my favorite Disney ride, The Carousel of Progress!
It's going to be a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
Liked the video - can't wait to see more.
More please. More examples, longer clips, etc. This could easily turn into something sponsorable, not to mention the most popular thing on the site.
Pre-prepared meals in just fifteen minutes! Bless them!
Really enjoyed the show. I love all those old 'in the future' clips from the fifties and sixties.
No suggestions for improvements, other than make it longer :D
Horizons music makes everything better. I look forward to more videos. Maybe links to the full versions of the some of the short stuff you pull clips from?
Great job--fantastic clips. Get a good mic and record the VOs off camera, and throw on a little more light. Keep 'em coming. This is a nice add to a fun site.
Thanks for the informative post and for actually replying to your readers’ comments. That’s something I don’t see very many blog owners doing and that makes me frustrated. Keep up the good work and I’ll continue coming back here to learn more....
Nice job!, You certainly are giving your visitors a lot of precious info. This blog will be a hit!
I just love blogging and as i get spare time from busy schedule i start working on it. Wonderful post, I really enjoyed reading it!

Beautifully done. And it's true -- there's no shame in production value. The lav is your friend--especially during those cutaways to other film clips. Great blog, great work.
Oh man....thank you so amazing big awesomely much! Everyday I'm bitter that I'm not allowed to live the future I was supposed to be living already. I know so much stuff has went to take the same effect with other technologies, but overall, our life is not as easy and automated as it should have been.
Thanks so much for that Disney movie especially - it's a very great source of new predictions too, I've found the full version on Youtube, it's a brilliant watch ! Please do more of such episodes, we want to know more how we should live by now !.
Clever things, I love www.paleofuture.com.Thanks.
Very inspiring video. I look forward to continuing :-)
